Meri Tadic is Leaving Eluveitie

Striking news from the Eluveitie camp:

With a heavy heart we have to inform you that Meri, our fiddle player, has decided to leave Eluveitie.
Meri was a part of our band from the very beginning. During the incredible last 11 years she went through thick and thin with us, played nearly 650 shows and performed on every Eluveitie album so far!
As the saying goes “all good things come to an end” – the time has come for Meri to devote her time to new goals.

Thank you, Meri, for sticking with us all these years! Thank you for everything you’ve given Eluveitie and for all the times we’ve shared.
We won’t forget. And from all our hearts we wish you all the best for your personal and musical future!

Meri will leave Eluveitie by the end of the year. So heads up, all of you who want to see Meri playing with us one last time – our last live show with her will be the Eluveitie & Friends festival on December 28! Don’t miss it!

Meri comments:

Dear friends!

After 11 years of Eluveitie I have decided that it is time for me to move on.
I have had the privilege to live through wonderful and unique years on stage and on the road as well as rough ones within the band.
My decision has absolutely nothing to do with Irij and the upcoming album.
Since many of you know I already have been involved with Irij for quite a few years now.
Nevertheless i’ll continue with full force now, evolve on my musical journey and thus focusing on the new release, debut shows, rehearsals, new influences and possibilities.

It’s really hard to find the right words, you know.
These were magical years in every way and I have lived through them and enjoyed them with all my heart.
A part of me will probably remain within “Eluveitie” forever because to me this band was never only a band but lifeblood.
That’s why I first wanna say an endless toast to all our fans around the globe.
You have been an invaluable enrichment to my life and I will merrily think back of the fantastic times spent and the passion I saw burning in your eyes, fists and bodies through the crowd.
Without you there would have been no us!!!

I wish for further luck, success and happiness to pave the way for my brothers and sister Chrigel, Anna, Ivo, Päde, Kay and Rafi! I will miss your pretty “Blockflötengesichter” and you all better behave out there! ;-)
Everything we’ve been through will never be forgotten and I am so proud to see how far we’ve made it!
Make me proud and keep on rocking the world dear friends.
Hopefully I will meet some of you out there on the road again! Somewhen, somewhere… :-)

As to end this statement, I wanna quote one of my favorite metal bands without whom i’d probably never ever would have ended up playing that fiddle in a Death Metal band at the first place!

“We are blind to the
World within us,
waiting to be born!”

Cheers everybody, no tears but joy now!

Just wanted to say thanks for the years of service. Eluveitie is a band that calls to me in a way few ever have. To have been a part of that makes each member of the band past and present important to me. I wish you the very best going forward!

My taste in music would not be what it is if it wasn’t for Eluveitie. Nor would my appreciation for history. I appreciate all the work you put into making your music perfect and perfect it was. Eluvietie wouldn’t be what it is if it weren’t for you Meri. Thank you for your time and effort

Well I’m sorry to say, but I just started listing to Eluveitie about a year ago. A colleague of mine at work told me, you got to listen to this band!!! So he plays a song, and up! the first song I heard was no other than “A Rose For Epona!” And I was hook!!! I went out and bought as many albums as I could find over the last year, and down loaded the one’s I couldn’t find. I can’t say enough about the unique sound the band produces. It gives me goosebumps :-) Meri I’m alittle sad to see you part ways for such a unique sound, but 11 years that’s a long time, well done Love!. I wish you the absolute best of luck on your new future journeys. Reading your heartfelt words, brought so many emotions to me, I felt I had to let you know. It’s been a long time since I read something so warm and touching. Thank You… I look forward continuing to listen to new music from Eluveitie. It has been an honor and a privilege to have been able to listen to such beautiful and hardcore music. Thank You all. Meri Good Luck. ;-)

    Sincerely Michael K

I’m sad to see you’re leaving, really sad.

    Will miss you so much!!
Don’t forget your brazilians fans, and come here!

Deine Entscheidung tut mir unglaublich leid.
